Dr. Hilgenfeldt’s clinical research focuses on improving diagnostics and treatments in gastroenterology. He has contributed to studies on IBD and Barrett's esophagus diagnostics. He has published research on unique GI cases aimed at advancing patient care.

He received his medical degree and completed residency at the University of Florida. He completed a fellowship at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Hilgenfeldt spends most of his time with family, including his 3 children.
