Biography

"Nothing gives me more satisfaction than helping people feel better both physically and emotionally. I have the opportunity to really have a positive impact on people and their lives."

Dr. Panner is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). He is the department chair at Atrium Health Cabarrus and the medical director at Atrium Health Copperfield OB/GYN.

He specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic. He was the first general OB/GYN to become certified to use the da Vinci robot-assisted surgery system in western NC and one of the first 50 nationwide.

Dr. Panner loves obstetrics and gynecology because it combines primary care and surgery. Plus, he's had the opportunity to care for young women that he delivered as babies.

He made the decision to pursue medicine in third grade and he never considered anything else. His great-grandfather was a family doctor.

Dr. Panner received his medical degree and completed his residency at Virginia Commonwealth University.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 grown children. They are very active and love to spend time outdoors hiking, wake surfing and doing yard work. Snow skiing is a passion he would pursue every day if he could.
