Biography

“I enjoy using my knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy and physiology to help athletes recover and maintain peak performance. I also enjoy helping community members return to activity to reach their personal goals, whether it be running a marathon or playing with their children. It’s my goal to help patients maintain an active lifestyle.”

Dr. Eric Sensenbrenner is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in sports medicine. His clinical interests are in sports concussion management and acute and chronic injuries to joints, muscles and bones, including ligament sprains, muscle strains, fractures, tendinitis and arthritis. He focuses on treating shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles and feet.

The hands-on, tangible aspects of sports medicine are what excite and intrigue Dr. Sensenbrenner. With musculoskeletal ailments, clinicians can examine and test the structures, as well as utilize imaging, to narrow in on a diagnosis. Combining knowledge of biomechanics with the ability to feel and see disease is what makes sports medicine unique.

Dr. Sensenbrenner received his degree in osteopathic medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed residency and a fellowship at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

His main priority is spending time with his wife and family. He loves skiing, golfing, hiking in state and national parks and traveling to experience the cultures and traditions of other countries.
