Biography
“I am privileged to care for patients with complex problems of the liver, pancreas and bile duct. I appreciate the diagnostic challenges, and I really enjoy working with my colleagues. Together, we try to figure out the best ways to treat patients with difficult to care for diseases.”
Dr. Baker is board certified in general surgery and specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant disease of the liver, pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder and duodenum at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute.
She serves as associate program director of the General Surgery Residency program and the HPB Surgery Fellowship program at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Dr. Baker is involved in various research areas, including minimally invasive HPB surgery, pancreatic cystic neoplasms and microwave ablation for hepatic malignancies.
She received her medical degree at Georgetown University. She then completed her residency and fellowship at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Baker loves spending time with her husband and 3 children. Together, they travel the world looking for new cultures to explore. She also enjoys reading historical novels, watercolor painting and riding her stationary bike.
