Biography
I feel honored to be a part of young girls’ and women's lives and help them develop self-confidence and more independence in advocating for their own health.”
Dr. Cook is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and specializes in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She also sees patients in conjunction with pediatric hematology who have been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder and patients at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Center for Gender Health.
She focuses on female reproductive health from birth to young adulthood. Patients in this age range have gynecologic needs that are distinct from adult females. This subspecialty includes consultation for rare and unique situations including abnormal anatomy, disorders of sexual differentiation and transgender adolescent care. She also provides routine care for irregular menses, heavy menstrual bleeding, ovarian cysts and vulvovaginitis.
She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and she received a focused practice designation from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a certified girlologist from Girlology.com, a physician-led organization that works to improve access to menstrual health education.
She received her medical degree from The University of Alabama and completed her residency at the University of Pittsburgh. She followed that with a fellowship at The University of Alabama.
Her husband is also a doctor and they have 2 young girls. She loves traveling, being outdoors, gardening and cooking.
