Erin K. Crane, MD, MPH

“There's a great deal of gratification from helping patients with cancer. When I'm in the clinic, I get to talk to patients all day while building close and lasting relationships.”

Dr. Erin Crane is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and gynecologic oncology. Conditions she treats include ovarian cancer, endometrial or uterine cancers, vulvar and vaginal cancers, cervical cancer and precancerous conditions.

She is inspired by opportunities to perform complex surgeries and finds cancer research fascinating.

Dr. Crane is an associate professor and the fellowship program director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Atrium Health.

She has been named a Charlotte magazine Top Doctor for multiple years. She received an ACOG National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education and a GOG Foundation New Investigator Award. Additionally, Dr. Crane serves as a core committee member of the NRG Oncology Developmental Therapeutics Committee and was a past president of the Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society.

Her research focuses on multiple trials within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, where she is a principal investigator.

Dr. Crane received her bachelor’s degree at Colgate University and her master’s degree in public health (MPH) at Boston University. She received her medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Virginia and a fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

She is married to a radiologist who specializes in breast imaging. They have 2 daughters who are smart and funny and excellent soccer players. In her time away from work, Dr. Crane enjoys traveling and spending time with friends.
