“I was inspired to pursue pediatric critical care medicine because I knew it was an opportunity to help children survive and thrive.”
Dugan is a board-certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner. She specializes in pediatric cardiac critical care and pediatric cardiology.
She is the director of Advanced Practice at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital and a faculty member for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society. She was a finalist for an Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award and an Atrium Health Pinnacle Award.
Dugan’s passion for human anatomy and physiology led her to pursue medicine and specialize in complex critical care.
She received her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania.
She is involved in research regarding quality improvement in the pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit and decreasing thrombus associated with PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) in pediatric patients.
