Biography

“As a former competitive athlete, I navigated my share of injuries and understand the importance of an accurate diagnosis and a clear plan for treatment and return to play. That first-hand experience gave me an appreciation of the physical and emotional challenges that come with an injury and the value of a supportive and knowledgeable care team to aid in recovery.”

Dr. Everett Wilson is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. He has expertise in the care of tendinitis, osteoarthritis, cartilage injuries, overuse injuries, stress fractures and ligament injuries.

Additionally, Dr. Wilson has expertise in ultrasound-guided procedures, concussion management, non-surgical treatment of fractures, return-to-play or return-to-work evaluations, throwing, running and jumping injuries, youth overuse injuries, Little League elbow and shoulder issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers and DeQuervain’s tenosynovitis.

Dr. Wilson chose primary care sports medicine because it allows him to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds while focusing on the unique needs of athletes and active individuals. It combines his interests in musculoskeletal health, athletic performance and injury prevention while giving him the opportunities to help individuals stay healthy, recover well and continue living their best lives.

Dr. Wilson is the former team physician for the University of Pittsburgh wrestling team and women's basketball team and the former team physician for Carnegie Mellon University Athletics.

He received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine at Nova Southeastern University and completed the Virginia Tech Carilion Family Medicine Residency. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Wilson enjoys watching soccer and mixed martial arts, anime, video games, rucking and playing with his dog.
