Biography
“I am a deeply caring, empathetic surgeon who will go above and beyond for each and every one of my patients. One of the most exciting aspects of vascular surgery is its inherent need for creativity and adaptability. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to work with each patient and their family towards a tailored treatment plan that fits their goals and needs.”
Dr. Fanny Alie-Cusson is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery. She treats acute and chronic disorders of the arteries and veins.
These include abdominal aortic and other aneurysms, aortic dissections (tears), arterial diseases, embolisms (blockages), ischemia (lack of blood flow) thrombosis (blood clots) and stenosis (narrowing).
She is skilled in procedures that include angioplasties and endarterectomies (opening narrowed or blocked arteries), thrombectomies and thrombolyses (removing clots surgically or with medication) bypass surgeries, limb salvage, stenting, ultrasounds and vena cava filters to prevent lung clots.
Dr. Alie-Cusson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
She received her medical degree at the University of Montreal, where she also completed residency in general surgery. She completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
