“The impact of incontinence and bladder health on patients can be extreme. Being able to help patients understand their bodies and working to restore their independence is very rewarding.”
Dr. Gillian Stearns-Parr is board certified in urology. Her clinical interests include neurourology, complex voiding dysfunction and conditions affecting the bladder and pelvic floor.
She chose to practice urology because it focuses on each patient's quality of life in addition to the disease processes. She is especially passionate about using a biopsychosocial approach in treating neurourology and voiding dysfunction patients, because they are often overlooked within the medical community.
Dr. Stearns-Parr has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine for multiple years.
She received a bachelor’s degree in French at Trinity University and her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Stearns-Parr completed residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate and a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and child, who especially love baking and traveling together. Dr. Stearns-Parr's hobbies include working out, tennis, reading, needlepoint and exploring Charlotte with friends. She has 2 cats who think they're dogs.
