Biography

What motivates me each day is the chance to help children feel better, live fuller lives and thrive. I believe no challenge is too small. Every child and every family deserves care that is thoughtful, creative and full of empathy. I want families to know that their medical team is truly with them – meeting them where they are and working in partnership to help their child get stronger every day.

I have always known I wanted to work in medicine. No other career felt as meaningful or fulfilling to me. By the time I was in middle school, it was clear this was the right path. Today, I am still driven by that same purpose: to give my very best to every patient and family I serve.

My approach to care is holistic, caring and unwavering. I believe in building honest, natural connections with children and their caregivers. When you come to see me, you can expect a partner in your child’s care – someone who will listen closely, speak honestly and work with you every step of the way.

I am a pediatric cardiologist, with board certification in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. My work focuses on advanced heart care for children, including:

  • Heart failure
  • Heart transplant
  • Cardiomyopathies

I also have clinical interests in cardio-oncology, how neuromuscular diseases affect the heart, and transplantation. I am passionate about caring for children with complex heart needs and helping families navigate those challenges with clarity and support.

One of the highlights of my career has been helping build a strong, united team centered on caring for patients with complex congenital heart disease, heart failure and transplantation needs. I also serve in leadership roles as division chief of pediatric cardiology, medical director of advanced cardiac therapies and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) pediatric representative for Region 11. These roles reflect my commitment to improving care not just for one patient at a time, but for entire programs and communities.

I speak English and Spanish, which helps me connect with more families in a personal way. Outside of work, I most enjoy spending time with my family. I am married and have two children, and we love traveling together.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to partnering with you and your family in your child’s care.
