Patel is a board-certified physician assistant, specializing in internal medicine and surgery. He was recently awarded Atrium Health’s Teal Acorn Award for Patients’ Choice of the Year. He specializes in managing chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart failure and musculoskeletal disorders. He also helps patients with weight management. He performs minor in-office procedures and instructs physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
When Patel was growing up, he was always interested in science and optimizing his own health. This led him to become a physician assistant, which gave him the opportunity to help patients from different backgrounds and ethnicities who face a variety of conditions and health challenges.
He earned his Master of Science in Nursing at Georgia Tech University.
Patel loves spending time with his wife, 2 children and extended family. He likes to play golf, travel and exercise. He practices yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Grounded by faith, he’s also very involved in service-oriented activities.
