James Wright is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He cares for people of all ages, cultures and orientations, including newborns, athletes and LGBTQIA+ populations. He is skilled in providing HIV prophylaxis (prevention), birth control, transgender hormone therapy, sports physicals and annual and wellness exams. He treats diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and other conditions. Additionally, he performs incision and abscess draining, joint and trigger point injections, laceration repairs and mole, wart and skin tag removals.
He believes it’s important to advocate for patients of all ages, nationalities, cultures and orientations. He especially enjoys watching young patients develop into adults and the determination of athletes. He strives to make pediatric visits fun and less stressful for patients and parents.
Wright was named an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year by Greater Winston-Salem (N.C.), Inc.
He received his master’s degree in nursing at Graceland University.
Away from work, Wright enjoys spending time with his family and 3 dogs. His hobbies include swimming, working out, hiking, volleyball, tennis, camping and travel. He reads the Bible daily and likes spiritual books as well. “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me” –Philippians 4:13.
