“When I meet my patients, I always ask them what they want to be when they grow up. Getting to know a child’s dream allows me to tailor their care to treat not only the disease but the child as a whole.”
Peterson is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She specializes in acute care pediatrics.
As a teen, Peterson became ill. The care she received inspired her to become a nurse practitioner who helps children facing life-threatening illnesses.
Peterson uses research to help improve outcomes and quality of life for children who have cancer. She is currently investigating the benefits of exercise on patients undergoing cancer treatments.
She received her master’s degree in nursing at Marquette University.
Outside of work, Peterson loves to travel to the beach with her family and 2 dogs. She also enjoys cheering on the Marquette University basketball team, reading and spending time with family and friends.
