Biography

“Every patient deserves to be empowered to make the best decisions for themselves, not just in everyday life, but especially in the pivotal moments that impact their health. I appreciate the chances to walk alongside patients as an advocate and care for people in both their best and hardest moments. It’s an honor, a privilege and a responsibility I never take for granted.”

Dr. Janine Baldino is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). She provides contraceptive and reproductive counseling, evaluation and treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding, perimenopause care, perinatal care and early pregnancy management, transgender health and gender-affirming care and minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery.

Inspired from the first day of her OB/GYN rotation, she knew this specialty would give her opportunities to build meaningful bonds with patients while earning their trust. Dr. Baldino felt a deep pull to provide this level of care for the underserved and often disadvantaged population that she was also a part of.

She has participated in surgical simulation research and transgender health and quality improvement research.

Dr. Baldino received her bachelor’s degree at North Carolina State University and her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She completed residency in OB/GYN at UNC Hospitals, where she received a Midwifery Chief Resident Award.

In her leisure time, she enjoys hiking, trail running, paddleboarding and exploring the mountains. Dr. Baldino and her husband love cooking together, trying local restaurants and taking on new skills. Their Alaskan malamute pup, Max, and Russian blue cat, Winston, are less adventurous and prefer their humans to stay home to grill and play card games.
