Dr. Janitra Shah is board certified in family medicine. She has a special interest in women's health and maternity care. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Shah has received several awards, including the Eugene S. Mayer Honor Society for Community Service Award from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Teacher of the Year from KIPP Academy Charlotte.
She previously served as a teacher through Teach for America, which inspired her to pursue family medicine.
Dr. Shah received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed residency at Allegheny Health Network Forbes Family Medicine, with a special focus on women's health and maternity care. She was selected as chief resident.
Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with her family and daughter and going on walks with her dog. Her hobbies include reading fiction novels and trying new restaurants.
