Jasmine Michele Weiss, MD

I believe every child deserves an equal opportunity to thrive and receive the best health care, no matter what their zip code is. As a pediatrician, researcher and innovator, I’m committed to providing exceptional care for patients and families, addressing health disparities and increasing representation in medicine to create a more equitable health care system. My goal is to empower families and the next generation through direct patient care, advocacy and innovation.

After experiencing my own childhood health challenges, I was inspired by the compassion and care I received from my pediatricians, and I sought to one day provide the same for other children. I value the opportunities to build meaningful connections with children and their families, and I work to advance their health and well-being both inside and outside the clinic. I combine my passion for medicine, education and advocacy to make a lasting impact on future generations.

I am board certified in pediatrics.

My research interests include medical education, and I received a grant through the Carolina Healthcare Workforce Research Center (CHWRC) to study the impact of undergraduate programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) on the physician career pathway. The National Medical Association named me one of the Top Healthcare Professionals Under 40.

Additionally, I am the founder of Black Med Connect and host of the B-MED podcast, an initiative focused on increasing representation in medicine and developing resources for trainees.

I received my bachelor's degree in biology at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and my medical degree at Duke University. I completed residency in pediatrics at Emory University, where I also served as chief resident. I then completed a fellowship in the National Clinician Scholars Program at Yale University.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling to warm-weather locations with beautiful beaches. I love reading, exercising, watching the NBA and cheering for the Golden State Warriors. My faith is very important to me, and I am passionate about health tech, innovation and entrepreneurship. I have written a successful children’s book to inspire early career exploration. Being creative as an author, podcaster and entrepreneur has become a meaningful way for me to continue empowering the next generation of brilliant minds.
