Biography
“Family medicine is so variable. I can be involved in so many aspects of a person's care, and I can be an effective advocate for each patient's health needs.”
Dr. Perey is board certified in family medicine. He focuses on musculoskeletal care, nonsurgical therapies for arthritis, blood pressure and cholesterol management, diabetes and cardiovascular risk assessment. He also treats gout and musculoskeletal pain conditions, such as rotator cuff syndrome, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome.
He values practicing family and primary care medicine because these specialties provide opportunities to be a contributing member of the community.
Dr. Perey is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Diabetes and Heart/Stroke Recognition Program.
Dr. Perey received his medical degree at St. George’s University. He completed residency in family medicine at AnMed Health System, affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is married with 2 children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and fly fishing in the mountains, cheering for Clemson University football and visiting his hometown beach in Isle of Palms, SC.
