Biography
Dr. Eichhorn grew up in Berlin, Germany. He attended medical school at Charité University Hospital. It’s one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe and has a long history of excellent clinical care, research and innovation.
Dr. Eichhorn completed a research fellowship at the University of California San Diego before his internal medicine residency training at Tulane University and a cardiology fellowship at Stanford University. He’s board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, with an interest in advanced cardiac imaging, and holds board certifications in cardiac CT, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and vascular ultrasound. He specializes in ischemic heart disease (recurring chest pain), congestive heart failure (weakness of the heart muscle) and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Eichhorn is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE). He moved to Charlotte in 2011 to join Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute.
Outside of work, he loves hiking with his family in the Blue Ridge Mountains, biking, yoga and staying involved with animal rescues.
