Biography
“I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was just shy of 3 years old. As a lifelong patient, I appreciate the new technology and treatments for diabetes and fell in love with the other aspects of endocrinology such as how to interpret complex lab values and how to best help a patient with their quality of life.”
He has received multiple awards, including top 20 finalist in the Doctor’s Dilemma Competition and finalist for the National Abstract Clinical Vignette Competition from the American College of Physicians, 2nd Place for Top Poster at the Wake Forest Department of Internal Medicine Research Symposium and highest in-training exam score during his residency at the University of Iowa.
Additionally, Dr. Steinman has delivered clinical lectures at the Society of General Internal Medicine Annual Meeting as well as multiple residency and fellowship didactic sessions at the University of Iowa and the University of Virginia.
He has presented research on urine studies, prevention of diabetes complications and the effects of Ghrelin and Pseudo-Cushing’s syndrome.
