Jerry F. Matkins, MD

Dr. Matkins is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). He specializes in a variety of gynecologic conditions, including pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, cysts, fibroids, infertility, incontinence, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse and colposcopy.

Additionally, he is skilled in prenatal care, contraceptive and reproductive counseling and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. This includes vaginal and single-site laparoscopic surgery and a new procedure for hysterectomies called vNOTES, which requires no abdominal incisions.

Dr. Matkins enjoys surgery but also cherishes long-term relationships with his patients. OB/GYN allows him to combine both career callings.

He has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine and a Best Doctor in NC by Business North Carolina multiple times.

Dr. Matkins received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. He is a fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

He is married to Dr. Preeti Matkins, a pediatrician and eating disorder specialist. They have 2 children, Jack and Katie. He enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and being on the water. He is an avid sailor.
