Biography
I have always been interested in science, health and learning how the human body works. I also knew from an early age that I wanted to work with children. During college, I was a health promotion peer educator, and that experience confirmed that medicine was the right career path for me. Pediatrics gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for medicine with my love of helping kids grow, thrive and reach their full potential.
I’m motivated every day by the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of my patients and their families. I want to be someone families can turn to with questions or concerns. My goal is to help children build healthy habits and stay well as they grow into healthy adults.
My approach to care starts with listening. I want to understand each family's concerns and what matters most to them. I believe preventive care is one of the best ways to support long-term health and a brighter future. I work closely with families to prevent illness whenever possible and provide the right treatment when children are sick.
I see health care as a partnership. I guide parents through important decisions, explain options clearly and help them choose the path that feels right for their child. When you bring your child to see me, you can expect a physician who listens carefully, takes time to answer questions and explains recommendations in a way that is easy to understand. I especially enjoy getting to know my patients beyond their medical needs, including their hobbies, interests and personalities. Building these relationships helps me provide more personalized care.
I’m board certified in pediatrics and care for children from infancy through adolescence. My clinical interests include:
- Behavioral health and wellness
- Behavior management
- Monitoring growth and development
- Preventive care, safety and health screenings
- Procedures such as umbilical granuloma cauterization
I received my degree in osteopathic medicine from Campbell University and completed my residency at the Medical College of Georgia. A highlight of my career was serving as chief resident during my residency training, an experience that helped me develop leadership skills while supporting resident education and patient care.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring parks and walking trails, reading and trying new restaurants with my husband. We love traveling together, playing pickleball and spending time at North Carolina beaches. Other hobbies include playing piano and reading thrillers, romance novels and historical fiction. These activities help me recharge and bring balance to my life.
I look forward to partnering with your family and supporting your child's health and development at every stage.
