Jimmarck Perel Castisimo Cuenta, DO

By utilizing traditional and novel technologies in advanced cardiac imaging, we are able to intervene in a way that leads to continued prevention or early treatment of coronary artery disease. This means better patient outcomes and a healthier society at large.”

Dr. Cuenta is board certified in cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography, vascular interpretation and internal medicine. He is a non-invasive cardiologist who treats coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, valvular and structural heart diseases, diseases of the aorta and arrhythmias.

He first became inspired to study cardiology during Take Your Child to Work Day, where he observed his father, a registered nurse first assistant, at work in an operating room. Dr. Cuenta believes in tailoring treatments that are congruent with every individual's beliefs and values.

Dr. Cuenta received his degree in osteopathic medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now part of Rutgers University. He completed residency in internal medicine at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons. He especially likes reading history books, being a foodie and playing “Jeopardy.” Dr. Cuenta hopes to visit all 7 Wonders of the World and to date, has seen Machu Picchu and the Colosseum in Rome.
