“Every patient is important. It's my job to give each patient my best every day.”

Dr. Doty is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. He specializes in the evaluation of pulmonary nodules and advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy. He enjoys pulmonary and critical care medicine because they involve direct patient contact with a mix of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

He was nominated for an Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award in the Innovator of the Year category and won the Bronze Touchstone award for work in lung cancer screening at Atrium Health's Quality and Patient Experience Sharing Day. He has been named a Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor for multiple years.

Dr. Doty performed the first endobronchial ultrasound procedure at Carolinas Medical Center and the first electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy.

He received his medical degree and completed his residency at The University of Tennessee. He followed that with a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
