Dr. McNelis is board certified in internal medicine and general gastroenterology.
The gastroenterologists he met during his internal medicine residency made a positive impression on him and were the reason he chose gastroenterology as his specialty.
Dr. McNelis received his medical degree and his master’s degree in public health at New York Medical College. He completed residencies in internal medicine and gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Health System, formerly known as Roosevelt Hospital.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and keeping in touch with family and friends in the US and abroad. His interests include watching sports on TV, especially baseball and boxing, and reading about history, current events and the latest gastroenterological developments.
