Joseph Hissam Zeidan, MD

Dr. Zeidan is board certified in internal medicine, specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology (disorders of the digestive system and liver). He has a clinical interest in the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett's esophagus (damage to the esophagus), celiac disease, and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). He also specializes in treating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pancreatic disease, gallbladder disease, acute hepatitis and cirrhosis (liver disease).

He received his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed residency at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center. He completed a research fellowship in transplant hepatology and a clinical fellowship in gastroenterology at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Dr. Zeidan and his wife, Suzan, are originally from New York and are happy with their life in the South. They enjoy traveling, exploring new areas, hiking and all outdoor activities. They come from very large immediate and extended families and enjoy spending as much time with them as they can.
