Biography

Dr. Hill is board certified in surgical oncology at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute. He specializes in the treatment of colorectal cancers, cancerous and pre-cancerous diagnoses of the gastrointestinal tract and stomach cancers. 

He also treats recurrent cancers and performs cytoreductive surgeries with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and surgeries for intra-abdominal sarcomas. 

He is an assistant professor of surgery at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, co-chair of the Quality Assurance Improvement Committee at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and program director of the National Accreditation Program in Rectal Cancer (NAPRC). He was named Atrium Health Physician of the Quarter and a Top Doctor by Charlotte Magazine for multiple years. 

He is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications and presented over 100 lectures at national and regional professional society meetings, including the Society of Surgical Oncology. He has served as a committee member for the colorectal sub-group of The Society of Surgeons of the Alimentary Tract. 

He received his medical degree at The Ohio State University. He received a master’s degree and completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts. He followed that with a fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. 

He enjoys performing surgery and applying newer technologies, such as minimally invasive and robotic techniques, when treating patients. 

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, hiking in the mountains and camping in the backwoods. He also enjoys reading mysteries and cooking.
