Dr. Joshua Knighton is board certified in family medicine. His clinical interests include chronic disease management, in-office procedures, weight loss, primary care and long-acting reversible contraception, including IUDs and birth control implants.
He received the Resident Teacher Award from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Dr. Knighton enjoys making long-lasting connections with his community through patient interactions and community engagement.
He received his medical degree at Mercer University and completed the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program.
Away from work, Dr. Knighton and his wife enjoy exploring Charlotte, North Carolina, especially the food and drink scene and the outdoors with their golden retriever. They love to travel and hope to visit every U.S. national park and hike the various trails. He likes playing pickleball and tennis as well as most other sports. His other interests include watching college football and reading science fiction.
