Dr. De Pena Fernandez is board certified in internal medicine. He specializes in treating diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, depression, anxiety and elevated cholesterol.
He is the site-based medical director at Atrium Health Primary Care Internal Medicine Matthews.
Dr. De Pena Fernandez enjoys internal medicine because it offers the unique ability to establish close relationships with patients through providing continued care. He chose to pursue medicine because he has a desire to help others in need.
He received his medical degree at the Universidad Iberoamericana and completed his residency at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young sons. He likes going for walks, cooking and watching cooking shows.
