Biography
“There are very few times that someone will require the services of a trauma surgeon or be admitted to a surgical intensive care unit, and those can be some of the most difficult days of their life. I take great pride in efficiently guiding patients and their families through the process and strive to get everyone home as soon as possible with the highest quality of life.”
Dr. Justin Cirone is board certified in surgery. He has clinical interests in trauma surgery, acute care surgery and surgical critical care.
He received the San Antonio Health Care Heroes Award from the San Antonio Business Journal, and the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award and the Golden Scalpel Award from Dartmouth College. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Cirone chose his profession because it allows him the opportunity to care for the most critically ill patients and their families.
His research interests include intimate partner violence, homicide prevention, trauma recidivism and whole blood transfusion.
Dr. Cirone received his master’s degree at The University of Chicago and his medical degree at Rutgers University. He completed residency at Dartmouth College and a fellowship at The University of Texas.
