Dr. Kaitlyn Townsend is board certified in family medicine.
She was drawn to her field by the combination of her interest in preventive and evidence-based medicine with her passion for lifestyle medicine and wellness.
Dr. Townsend was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, where she also received an Edgar T. Beddingfield, Jr. Family Medicine Award. Additionally, she received a Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement from the American Medical Women's Association and a Gold Touchstone Award at Advocate Health.
She received her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of North Carolina and her medical degree at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine.
A native Texan, Dr. Townsend is a former competitive gymnast who stays active with strength training, biking, and climbing. She also enjoys cooking plant-based meals, soaking up sunshine at the pool, spending time outdoors, practicing and teaching yoga, reading, and traveling to new places.
