Dr. Kalyan Muppavarapu is board certified in psychiatry and sleep medicine. He treats adults for all psychiatric conditions with an emphasis on sleep disorders.
He chose to specialize in psychiatry because he enjoys the intersection of medicine, neuroscience and human behavior. Dr. Muppavarapu appreciates the intellectual curiosity needed to understand the complexity of mental health, and he strives to use a holistic approach to finding solutions.
He received Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant funding for his research on the expansion of telehealth.
Dr. Muppavarapu received his medical degree at Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India. He completed residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in sleep medicine at The University of Oklahoma.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family. They like going on weekend outings and participating in activities together.
