Biography
“I'm a passionate clinician and educator, and I believe strongly in utilizing my skills to not only help our patients, but to train the next generation of neurologists to serve the community.”
Dr. Karan Tarasaria is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology. He focuses on neurology, stroke and cerebrovascular disease.
The human brain is a fascinating organ that is the command center of the body, and Dr. Tarasaria appreciates the opportunities to diagnose and help patients with disorders impacting the brain and nervous system. He values the modern advances that help improve patient outcomes, especially for strokes and other time-sensitive conditions.
He has previously worked at Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut as a vascular neurologist and curriculum specialist for the neurology residency program and was recognized as teacher of the year for the neurology department.
Dr. Tarasaria received his medical degree at Government Medical College in Surat, India. He completed residency in neurology at the University of Connecticut, where he was named the residency program’s teacher of the year and inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society state chapter. He subsequently completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at Yale University.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his young family. Dr. Tarasaria is an avid soccer fan who also likes photography and hiking.
