“I do this job because I can intervene in acute illnesses and injuries by providing not only medications but also instruction on holistic methods of self-care and health care.”
Parsons is a board-certified family nurse practitioner.
She feels her work in an urgent care setting was a natural transition from her previous roles in bedside nursing in emergency departments as well as critical care transport.
Parsons received her master’s degree in nursing at Georgetown University.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bernie, and their dogs, Diesel, a German Shepherd, and Sam, a mixed breed. The couple has 3 grown children. Reading is a favorite hobby for her, especially action books, thrillers, crime mysteries, true crime, horror and spiritual genres. She also loves to hike, walk, mountain bike and do photography, needlepoint and crochet.
