Katerina Shpak is a board-certified physician assistant. She specializes in cardiology with a focus on congenital heart diseases (birth defects).
At a young age, she witnessed a family member grappling with heart disease and the experience led to her career choice. During her fellowship training with many cardiology subspecialists, she became motivated to care for patients who have congenital heart diseases.
She received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed fellowship training in the Atrium Health Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship program.
Outside of work, Shpak enjoys playing pickleball, crocheting, cooking and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite places to explore are the North Carolina mountains, where she loves to find new hiking trails with great views.
