Dr. Katherine Akeley specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN).
She received the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists (SOGH) Award and is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Akeley has conducted research about knowledge of pelvic floor disorders in the antepartum period.
She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her medical degree at the University of South Florida with a scholarly concentration in international medicine. Dr. Akeley completed residency in OB/GYN at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
She loves spending time with her family and their own little zoo, including 2 golden retrievers, 2 cats, and 2 fish tanks, including 1 large saltwater tank with tropical fish. Dr. Akeley also enjoys skiing in the western U.S. and being outdoors at the beach or in the mountains. Her other interests include cooking, baking, reading and listening to true crime podcasts.
