Dr. Katherine Kenneweg is board certified in dermatology. She treats diseases of the hair, skin and nails, including medical, surgical, cosmetic and pediatric dermatology conditions. These include excisions of benign and cancerous skin lesions and cosmetic dermatology, including chemical peels, botulinum toxins and soft tissue augmentation with hyaluronic acid fillers.
She fell in love with dermatology because it allows her to provide medical procedures while developing long-term patient relationships. She customizes each patient’s treatment to their particular needs and desires using the latest in evidence-based medicine.
While attending medical school, she served on the medical school ethics committee and was active in community outreach, including her work as a counselor at Camp Discovery for children with severe dermatologic diseases.
Her areas of research include infectious diseases and HIV care, allergies and pediatrics. She is experienced in inpatient and outpatient complex medical dermatology, including severe cutaneous drug eruptions and autoimmune skin diseases. Her other interests include blistering diseases, rheumatologic dermatology, vascular malformations, skin of color and women’s dermatology.
Additionally, she has worked with pediatric and adult organ and stem-cell transplant patients to provide care for related skin cancers and infectious diseases.
Dr. Kenneweg has presented to the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the World Congress of Dermatology and others.
She received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology at Miami University. She received her master’s degree in biological sciences and her medical degree at the University of Toledo. Dr. Kenneweg completed residency in dermatology at the University of Minnesota and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
