Biography
Seeing an OB/GYN can feel like a vulnerable encounter, and I aim to meet that vulnerability with respect, patience, understanding and education every time I meet with a patient. I chose obstetrics and gynecology because it allows me to build lifelong relationships with patients and support them through some of the most meaningful moments in their lives.
I have a passion for delivering comprehensive women’s health care, advancing medical innovation, performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and partnering with my health care team towards excellence.
As a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, I focus on general health and wellness, obstetrics and high-risk obstetrics, fertility, abnormal menstrual bleeding, endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, prolapse, urinary incontinence, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and menopause. My surgical skills include general gynecological surgery and minimally invasive surgery. I have completed over 100 robotic-assisted surgeries.
I have received several awards, including the Patricia A. Marden Women's Health Research Award for excellence in original research in the area of women's health and the American Osteopathic Association Presidential Memorial Leadership Award and Scholarship.
I received my bachelor’s degree in exercise science and general science at Middle Tennessee State University and received my doctorate degree in osteopathic medicine at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my internship and residency at Mercy Health/Trinity Health Michigan.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my tiny sidekick, Lexi, my toy Yorkshire terrier. I enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s a peaceful nature walk or exploring a new hiking spot. I’m also a foodie and love trying new restaurants, especially when I can share the experience with friends. At home, I enjoy caring for my growing collection of plants and improving my plant-propagation skills.
I’m always looking for opportunities to travel and explore new places, and I especially love anything involving the water. Past adventures have included living in Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama and Michigan. I have completed medical mission trips to Togo, Africa; Tegucigalpa, Honduras; and San Salvador, El Salvador. For entertainment, I’m drawn to anything live. Concerts, local music events and Broadway shows are some of my absolute favorites.
I love exploring the Southeast and caring for patients locally.
