Dr. Katherine Mielke is trained in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). Her clinical interests include preconception counseling, obstetrics, general gynecology, contraception, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
She was drawn to OB/GYN by her desire to develop lifelong relationships with patients and the opportunities to support them throughout adolescence, pregnancy, menopause and beyond. She values working with patients to select the best medical or surgical treatment to meet their goals.
Dr. Mielke received her bachelor’s and medical degrees at the University of Alabama. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Wake Forest University, where she served as the administrative scheduling chief resident.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, John, and their German shepherd, Roman. Dr. Mielke also enjoys hiking, exercising, traveling, reading, doing home improvement projects and watching Alabama football.
