Biography

I have always been drawn to caring for others and making a meaningful difference in their lives. My love of science and passion for helping children grow and thrive led me to a career in nursing and pediatric primary care. I’m passionate about building relationships with children and their families and feel grateful to be part of their health care journey.

As someone born and raised in Shelby, North Carolina, I am especially excited to care for the community and surrounding areas that have always been home to me.

My approach to care is centered on compassion, collaboration and treating every child as an individual. I believe the best care begins with listening, understanding each family’s concerns and making decisions together. My goal is for every family to feel heard, supported and confident in their child’s care.

I am a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner.

I provide primary care for children from infancy through young adulthood, with clinical interests in:

  • Well-child visits and preventive care
  • Sick visits and acute illnesses
  • Growth and development
  • Connective tissue disorders, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and hypermobility syndrome
  • Autonomic conditions, including POTS
  • Complex and chronic health conditions

I have a particular interest in conditions that can be difficult to recognize or understand. I enjoy listening closely to a child’s history, looking at the whole picture and helping families connect the pieces of their child’s health.

I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). I also enjoy teaching and mentoring future nurses and nurse practitioners.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling and exploring new places. I’m incredibly grateful to have returned home to care for the children and families in the community that raised me.

I look forward to building lasting relationships with my patients and their families, and I feel honored to be part of your child’s health care team.
