Kent Kercher, MD, specializes in minimally invasive solid organ, gastrointestinal and hernia repair surgery. His clinical interests include laparoscopic nephrectomy for benign and malignant kidney diseases, refinement of techniques for minimally invasive hernia repair and research in the use of biomaterials for hernia repair.
Dr. Kercher has been recognized by his peers as one of the Top Surgeons in North Carolina for eight consecutive years. He has written 12 book chapters, co-authored more than 160 peer reviewed publications and reviews manuscripts for several professional journals. Dr. Kercher lectures nationally and internationally, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and serves on the Board of Governors for the American Hernia Society.
