Biography

“I believe all patients deserve the least invasive surgical options. I enjoy complex surgical reconstructive challenges and my practice focuses on offering less invasive options to patients.”

Dr. Stepp is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) with a specialty in urogynecology. He focuses on complex cases including pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, fibroids, endometriosis, fertility, hysterectomies and reconstructive surgeries.

He is the division director at Atrium Health Women's Care Urogynecology and Pelvic Surgery and the site-based medical director at the Women’s Center for Public Health. He is a professor of urology, obstetrics and gynecology at Atrium Health, and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Stepp pioneered the use of single port laparoscopic surgery. He has trained more than 500 doctors worldwide on the procedure. His accolades include being named one of the Best Doctors in America and a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and by Charlotte magazine.
