Biography

“I seek to help both the patient and their entire family and to positively impact lives through healthcare. I take satisfaction in being an advocate for my patients. I realize illness doesn’t just impact the patient, but also the whole family.”

Dr. Gunadasa is board certified in family medicine. She specializes in the management of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with a focus on disease prevention. She is also skilled in mental health and acute care, which focuses on coughs, colds, urinary tract infections and other illnesses.

She chose family medicine because she enjoys building relationships with patients and

their families on a long-term basis. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to English, she speaks Sinhala.

Dr. Gunadasa received her medical degree at St. Matthews University and completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia/Mayo Clinic Health System.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 wonderful sons, hiking and traveling. She also enjoys playing tennis, swimming and supporting Appalachian State football.
