Dr. Strawhun was born and raised in Indiana, along the shores of Lake Michigan. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Butler University, majoring in Biology and German. She then attended Indiana University School of Medicine through its early decision program. Her post-graduate training was also completed at Indiana University; she completed her residency in Internal Medicine, then was asked to stay on as Chief Resident. Following her Chief year, she entered and completed a dual Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. During that time, Dr. Strawhun was fortunate to be able to channel her love for medical ethics into a Medical Ethics Fellowship at the Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2010, she happily joined Charlotte Medical Clinic and began working for CHS. She is widely traveled, and has practiced medicine in Ireland and Kenya. She is involved in education at CMC-Pineville, and is their current Director of Critical Care.
