Biography
“I want children to feel empowered and know that many people, including myself, care about their health, happiness and well-being and sincerely desire to see them succeed.”
Dr. Kelly is board certified in pediatrics and enjoys all aspects of partnering with children and their families to achieve their best health. She has won multiple awards, including the Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award in 2019, the Teal Acorn Finalist Award in 2018, the Physician Choice Award in both 2019 and 2018, and the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) Academic Achievement Award. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
She enjoys the continuity of medical care, from sharing the thrill of a new birth with parents to being part of a child's growth and development. For her, forming strong, trusting relationships is important in all facets of her life.
Dr. Kelly loves all aspects of medicine: challenging cases, well-check visits and routine sick visits. Pediatrics naturally allowed her to be part of the intricacies of a family and educate children and families with up-to-date information for best health practices.
Her own childhood pediatrician was her hero and inspired her to pursue medicine. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him during medical school and residency.
She received her medical degree at East Carolina University and completed her residency at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
Dr. Kelly loves spending time with her husband, a doctor, their 5 children and several grandchildren. Her interests include their dogs, travel, reading and design.
