Kristina L. Kelly, MD

I want children to feel empowered and know that many people, including myself, care about their health, happiness and well-being and sincerely desire to see them succeed.

I am board certified in pediatrics and enjoy all aspects of partnering with children and their families to achieve their best health. I enjoy the continuity of medical care, from sharing the thrill of a new birth with parents to being part of a child's growth and development. For me, forming strong, trusting relationships is important in all facets of my life.

I love all aspects of medicine: challenging cases, well-check visits and routine sick visits. Pediatrics naturally allows me to be part of the intricacies of a family and educate children and families with up-to-date information for best health practices.

My own childhood pediatrician was my hero and inspired me to pursue medicine. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him during medical school and residency.

I’ve won multiple awards, including the Atrium Health Teal Acorn Award in 2019, the Teal Acorn Finalist Award in 2018, the Physician Choice Award in both 2019 and 2018, and the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) Academic Achievement Award. I am a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

I received my medical degree at East Carolina University and completed my residency at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.

I love spending time with my husband, a doctor, our five children and several grandchildren. My interests include our dogs, travel, reading and design.
