Funderburk is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. She specializes in cardiology.
Her interest in cardiology began after her grandfather's open heart surgery. Her family received excellent care from their nurse practitioner, guiding them through each step of the process while taking the time to listen. That changed her perspective of health care and motivated her to become a nurse practitioner.
Funderburk received her master’s degree in nursing at the University of South Carolina.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and 4 children. They like going to the park with their dog, Thor, and enjoy traveling and spending time at the lake.
