Biography
I am an oncology nurse practitioner who believes every patient deserves to feel heard, informed and supported throughout their health care journey. I am motivated by the opportunity to help patients and families navigate complex diagnoses with confidence, compassion and understanding. My goal is to make a positive impact not only on the lives of my patients, but also on the well-being of their families and support systems.
My approach to care is centered on partnership, trust and education. I believe patients should be active participants in decisions about their care, and I strive to create an environment where questions are encouraged and concerns are addressed openly. Every patient is unique, and I take the time to understand individual needs, goals and values so we can create a personalized plan of care together. Patients can expect clear communication, thoughtful guidance and compassionate support during every visit.
I specialize in hematology and oncology care and am board certified as an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner (AGNP-C).
I care for patients with a wide range of cancer and blood disorders. I have special interests in:
- Patient advocacy
- Health literacy
- Symptom management
- Improving access to high-quality cancer care
I’m especially passionate about helping underserved, underinsured and uninsured patients overcome barriers to care and receive the support they need throughout treatment.
One of the highlights of my career has been earning my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Duke University. My doctoral education has strengthened my ability to bridge direct patient care, clinical leadership and health policy.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially traveling and discovering new places, cultures and traditions. In recent years, I’ve visited some of the largest state fairs in the U.S. with my children and friends, creating lasting memories while exploring different communities and experiences. I’m also an avid reader. Giving back is important to me. I am active in my church community, where I enjoy serving others and building meaningful relationships. My faith, family and commitment to service help guide both my personal life and my approach to patient care.
I look forward to partnering with you and your loved ones, providing compassionate care and helping you feel informed, supported and confident every step of the way.
