“I am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people facing complex and serious illnesses. I use evidence-based medicine, empathy and strong clinical judgment to support and guide patients through some of their most challenging times. Ultimately, I find purpose through compassion, expertise and dedication to every aspect of my work.”
Dr. Lakshmi Yarlagadda is board certified in internal medicine. She focuses on hematology-oncology (blood disorders and cancer).
A serious illness in her family during childhood inspired her to study blood disorders and complex medical conditions. Throughout her training and work, she found this field intellectually challenging, diverse and constantly evolving with new treatments. Her clinical and research experiences have deepened her passion and commitment to this specialty, especially in managing cancer patients and studying blood-related diseases.
Dr. Yarlagadda is an assistant professor of hematology and oncology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Her research focuses on multiple myeloma.
Dr. Yarlagadda received her medical degree at NRI Academy Medical College in Guntur, India. She completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Arkansas.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her 2 children, who are her main source of relaxation and joy. Dr. Yarlagadda also enjoys reading and spending time outdoors when possible, but her priority is making meaningful memories with her family.
