She received her bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Puerto Rico and her medical degree at Ponce Health Sciences University. Dr. Serrano-Ortiz completed residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico and a spinal cord injury medicine fellowship at UTHealth Houston.
