Biography
“Eating and nourishing our body is not only a necessary part of living but also a joyful part of it. When there is digestive discomfort or malfunction, it can negatively affect many different aspects of a child's life. I love working with families to help their child feel and function better.”
Dr. Cheng is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.
Dr. Cheng is the medical director of the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Feeding Center, the director of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Jeff Gordon Children’s Center and chief of the Department of Pediatrics at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Additionally, she serves as faculty in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the UNC School Medicine.
She received her bachelor’s degree at Harvard University, her master’s degree in public health at Emory University and her medical degree at Tulane University. She completed a residency and fellowship at Emory University.
Outside of work, Dr. Cheng enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons. She also enjoys gardening and sharing her love of food with her family.
